Read before ordering beneficial insects online [Important].

Our supplier Biobasiq ships fresh beneficial insects every Monday. Place your order no later than 12:00 PM on Sunday to have them shipped the following Monday. If your order is placed after Sunday, it will be shipped the following Monday. The beneficial insects are shipped to your mailbox; please keep this in mind when ordering during winter if your mailbox is located outdoors. When the temperature drops in early November, orders are sent to a PostNord collection point instead of the mailbox.

Small sachets of predatory thrips mites, Amblyseius cucumeris, used preventively against thrips or at the beginning of an infestation.

To achieve a good effect, it is beneficial to hang up the sachets early.

If the mites do not find thrips, they can also survive on, for example, other mites and pollen.

Predatory thrips mites are effective against light-colored thrips, but work less well against dark, tropical thrips species often seen in tropical houseplants.

Please note that the predatory thrips mites primarily target thrips larvae; therefore, adults are not affected. If you have an established thrips infestation, it is better to use pirate bugs (Orius). 

Instructions for use

The sachets are hung in the plants, on side branches or leaf stems. Over the following 4-6 weeks, predatory thrips mites will emerge daily from the sachet and climb the plant to search for thrips. 

Please note that the sachet already has pre-made holes, so it does not need to be opened further.

Avoid letting the sachet come into contact with soil and hang it in a location protected from direct sunlight.

The predatory mites should be released immediately upon receipt but can be stored for a couple of days at 8-10 degrees Celsius.
