Maranta Leuconeura or 'Prayer Plant' is a popular houseplant known for its patterned leaves and for being easy to care for. So, how do you care for Maranta, also known as prayer plants? Here are some tips to make your Prayer Plant thrive:
- Light: Place your Maranta in a location where it receives filtered, bright light. Direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves. It thrives best in indirect light, so place it near a window with soft, filtered light, or a few meters away from a clear window.
- Watering: Maranta thrive in moist soil. Water regularly and avoid the soil drying out completely. Be careful not to get the leaves too wet. Excessive moisture on the leaves can lead to mold and other problems.
- Humidity: Maranta leuconeura love high humidity. If you want to pamper your houseplant, you can use a humidifier nearby or regularly spray the leaves with water to keep the air moist.
- Temperature: Avoid cold drafts and large temperature differences. Maranta are sensitive to cold drafts, so keep it away from drafty windows or doors. This houseplant thrives best in a room temperature of between 18-25 degrees.
