Pilea depressa
Pilea depressa is originally from the Caribbean, but now also grows wild in Mexico. The species was named by Carl Ludwig Blume in the early 19th century, where "depressa" in Latin refers to its flattened leaves. A small plant that is excellent as a ground cover in a terrarium.
Botanical description
The leaves are very small, green with wavy edges and grow on delicate pink stems. The plant grows 7-15 cm tall and forms moss-like mats that cover the ground.

During the summer it produces small white flowers without petals. The plant spreads by creeping stems and forms dense stands over time.
Care
Light : Prefers partial shade or light shade. Be careful with direct sunlight.
Temperature : Can withstand temperatures between 13-27°C. Ideal temperature is 18-24°C and avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Humidity : Loves high humidity and thrives best at 60-80% humidity. 50-60% humidity is minimum. Perfect for terrariums or humid environments.
Watering : Keep moist but not wet. Allow the soil to dry between waterings to prevent root rot.
Substrate : Thrives in well-drained substrate. For example, our peat-free soil.
Pilea depressa is quite easy to grow and easy to propagate through cuttings. Perfect as a hanging plant or ground vegetation in a terrarium. Buy Pilea depressa online!
