Philodendron sp. 'Colombia' refers to an unidentified or not yet scientifically described Philodendron species from Colombia, indicated by 'sp.' (species) in its name.
This designation is used when a plant is considered to belong to a genus but has not been assigned a specific species name. Adapted to the humid, hot conditions of tropical rainforests, it can thrive in similar indoor environments, preferring indirect light, high humidity and warm temperatures.
Care: Well-drained soil, preferably a mix for aroid plants with bark, perlite and sphagnum moss like our aroid soil . Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some shade. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
Botanical Description
Scientific name: Philodendron sp. 'Colombia'
Origin: The origin of this species is Colombia, where it grows in the moist environments of rainforests
Leaves: Large, heart-shaped to oval leaves that can be up to 30-50 cm long and 20-35 cm wide. The leaves are dark green with a glossy surface and have a distinct, ribbed structure. The young leaves are often reddish before maturing to a deep green color.
Habit: Climbing or trailing, with long, strong stems. The roots are epiphytic, which means they naturally grow on other plants without parasitizing them.
Philodendron sp. 'Colombia ' is relatively easy to care for and adapts well to different indoor conditions. A unique feature of this Philodendron is its ability to grow both as a climber and a hanging plant, which adds flexibility to it. Buy Philodendron sp. 'Colombia' online!
