Philodendron pastazanum has leaves up to 60 cm long!
Philodendron pastazanum has heart-shaped leaves, somewhat similar to Philodendron mamei and Philodendron sodiroi, but with deep green leaves and light veins . The plant is grown for its beautiful large green leaves and is very easy to care for.
Botanical description
This species is native from Ecuador to Peru . It is a creeping plant that grows mainly in tropical humid areas.

Appearance.
The plant creeps along the ground and grows to about 1-1.5 m tall . The leaves grow from small rounded 'nodes' at regular intervals on the stem. The leaves are large, up to about 65 cm long and 50 cm wide. The leaves are dark green, shiny to matte-velvety above, slightly lighter and shiny below.
Care.
Think jungle , warm, slightly humid and shaded from direct sunlight. This Philodendron prefers bright, indirect light . If you notice that the leaves are starting to yellow, it may be because it is getting too much light. On the other hand, if the plant is growing slowly or the leaves are smaller than usual, you can try placing it in a brighter spot.
Interestingly, this philodendron is not particularly fussy about temperatures. If you feel comfortable in a room, your plant probably does too. Keep it away from windowsills in the winter.
When it's time to repot, use a well-drained soil mix such as our aroid soil . You can also plant in an oblong planting pot as the plant creeps along the ground. It can then shoot roots from the stem along the pot and get much larger leaves!
