Philodendron opacum
Philodendron opacum is an elegant climbing plant often sold under the name "Monstera sp. Peru/ Karstenianum" or "Epipremnum marble planet", but which actually belongs to the Philodendron genus. This beautiful aroid has oval to lanceolate leaves that can grow to 40 centimeters long and about 20 centimeters wide.
The leaves are dark green or grayish green on the upper side and yellowish green on the underside. They have a matte to velvety surface on the upper side.
Botanical description
Philodendron opacum belongs to the Araceae family and has its natural distribution from southeastern Nicaragua to Ecuador, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador.

Like many other Philodendron species, this is a hemiepiphytic climber that begins its life on the forest floor and then climbs up trees.
Care
Philodendron opacum thrives best in bright, indirect light and should be kept in a warm, humid environment. Water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy, using a porous soil mix such as our Aroid Soil . It thrives in moderate temperatures and high humidity.
Give the plant a support to climb on, such as a moss pole. This encourages natural growth and helps the plant develop larger, more mature leaves. The climbing roots will attach to the support. Buy Philodendron opacum online!
