Philodendron joepii is a natural hybrid from South America.

It is currently believed that the plant is a natural hybrid between P. pedatum and P. bipennifolium , both endemic to the region P. × joepii was collected. Furthermore, only two specimens of the plant have ever been found in the wild.

Philodendron joepii has oblong, round leaves that taper deeply towards the base and have a lobed edge. The leaves also have an intensely green upper surface that provides a strong contrast to the dark stems.

Philodendron joepii is not yet a species. The plant was first discovered and described by scientists in the early 2000s, and its popularity has steadily increased since then.

Care.

Like most plants in the Philodendron genus, Philodendron joepii is relatively easy to care for. It thrives in indirect light in our Swedish homes, but a few hours of direct sun won't hurt.

The soil must be well drained to allow it to be moist almost all the time, a good soil is for example our aroid soil . Since P joepii prefers to climb, we also recommend a moss stake . The plant tolerates normal indoor humidity well.
