Rare Monstrous Japanese Cultivar with Peculiarly Tuberous Areoles
Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. Fukurokuryuzinboku is a remarkable monstrous form of the popular blueberry cactus. This is a very rare and sought-after Japanese cultivar and a true collector's item.
While the common Myrtillocactus geometrizans is a columnar blue-green tree cactus, 'Fukurokuryuzinboku' is distinguished by its peculiarly shaped, tuberous areoles (the cactus's breathing holes). It is playfully called 'boob cactus'. Apart from this characteristic tuberous form, it otherwise resembles the common cactus and can grow up to 4.5 meters high with a crown up to 5 meters wide.

Care
Requires light shade when young and full sun when older. Water regularly during the summer but allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Use a well-draining soil mix with gravel or perlite for good drainage.
During the winter months, keep it quite dry, watering only enough to prevent the stems from shrivelling. The species is semi-hardy but should never be exposed to temperatures below -4 degrees Celsius, and it is best not to let the night temperature drop below 10 degrees.
As this is a large-growing cactus, it needs plenty of space for its roots. Repot every two years or when the plant has outgrown its pot. Buy Boob Cactus online!
