Kumquat ger ätbara små frukter
De små frukterna både liknar och smakar ungefär som apelsin, hela frukten inklusive skal är ätbart. Trädet blommar med väldoftande vita blommor mellan april och maj. Denna citrusväxt tål frost men bör ändå tas in på hösten och förvaras svalt och ljust. Stammen är dessutom utan taggar!

Citrus japonica är en av 3 olika sorter kumquat och är denna artens namn. Den kommer från Kina och namnet kumquat betyder 'gyllene apelsin' på kinesiska.
Skötsel.
Kan ställas ut i skyddat läge under sommaren men tas in på hösten. Då placeras plantan i ett ljust men svalt läge. För att odla kumquat med många frukter rekommenderas även citrusnäring under sommaren. Köp Kumquat online!
