Unusual variegated Hoya with creamy-white leaf margins and fragrant porcelain-white flower clusters
Hoya verticillata 'Albomarginata' (also known as Hoya acuta 'Albomarginata', IML 1625) is a form of Hoya verticillata, known for its distinct variegation along the outer edges of its thick, waxy leaves. The leaves are elliptical with a rich green center framed by creamy to white outer margins. In strong light, new leaves may emerge with a hint of pink before maturing to their full variegated beauty.

The species is a climbing epiphyte native to the warm and humid climates of Southeast Asia, where it clings to trees and thrives in dappled sunlight with ample moisture. The flowers are porcelain-white, sometimes with a pink hue, and appear in large clusters with a sweet and slightly spicy fragrance.
Care
Thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its vibrant variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun that can scorch the leaves.
Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings; overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage. Use a well-draining, airy mix with, for example, orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss that mimics its natural epiphytic environment.
Appreciates high humidity, preferably over 60 percent. Ideal temperature 18-29 degrees Celsius. Keep away from cold drafts. Excellent for climbing supports or hanging baskets. Buy Hoya verticillata 'Albomarginata' online!
