Fast-blooming Indonesian Hoya with splashy leaves, likely a form of Hoya latifolia

Hoya sp. 'Rangsan' likely originates from Rangsang in Indonesia and is a classic yet often overlooked Hoya. With its fast blooming and splashy, mottled leaves, it is a rewarding plant for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.

Within the world of hoyas, there is currently a movement where many previously separate species are being merged into single species with different clones depending on their collection site. It is therefore likely that Hoya sp. 'Rangsan' will eventually be classified under Hoya latifolia. The flowers are identical to those of macrophylla and polystachya, which are all now referred to as Hoya latifolia.
