Hoya soligamiana: Newly discovered species from Luzon
A relatively newly discovered Hoya from the Philippines, found in 2006 and published in 2009.
There are few plants that feel as exciting as a newly discovered species, and Hoya soligamiana is just that. Found as recently as 2006 in Quezon Province on Luzon and officially published in 2009 by Kloppenburg, Siar & Cajano. This is botanical history in our hands, a species that has barely had time to spread in cultivation.
Botanical description
Hoya soligamiana was discovered at an altitude of 200 meters in Atimonan Municipality, Quezon Province on the island of Luzon, Philippines. As a relatively lowland species from this species-rich region, it represents the continuing discovery of new Hoya species from Southeast Asia. The fact that it was published as late as 2009 shows how much remains to be discovered in the Hoya world.

Care as a Philippine species
Like most Hoyas from the Philippines: Strong direct sunlight. High humidity (60-80%). Well-drained, airy soil mix such as our aroid soil . Keep the soil mixture evenly moist and feed it with potting soil once a week during the summer. Temperature about 20-28°C.
Its lowland origins make it adaptable to indoor cultivation.
A real novelty in the Hoya world, perfect for the collector who wants to be among the first to grow this newly discovered species. Buy Hoya soligamiana online!
