Hoya parasitica has thick leaves and fragrant flowers.
There are many different porcelain flowers with varying shapes and leaf colors. Hoya parasitica has pointed leaves with raised leaf veins . The leaves are thick and succulent, which indicates that it can withstand short dry periods well.
Care.
Hoya thrives best in mild conditions. This means no direct sun but preferably partial shade, warm temperatures around or above 20 °C and regular watering. The surface of the soil should dry out between waterings , but the substrate should never become completely dry . The species can withstand shorter dry periods but should not be treated like a cactus.
Fertilize sparingly, for example with orchid food about every two weeks during the growing season. To stimulate more and denser flowers, you can use a flower fertilizer with a lower nitrogen content. Plant them in airy soil or orchid substrate, as they usually grow epiphytically just like orchids. We use our aroid soil for porcelain flowers.
Botanical description.
Hoya parasitica is a synonym of Hoya verticillata var. verticillata. The species is widespread in Southeast Asia and grows in the seasonally dry monsoon forests.

Flowers.
The flowers have a white, long-haired corolla and a red main corolla. They are formed in clusters of 5 to 20 flowers, have a pleasant scent and last for about 5 to 7 days. Do you constantly long for the scent of spring? Buy Hoya parasitica online!
