It usually blooms during the spring and summer, but can bloom multiple times a year under the right conditions.
Botanical Description
The origin of Hoya Mathilde's name is a bit unclear; it seems to stem from someone's daughter, possibly the hybridizer's. It is a hybrid between Hoya carnosa (China and Japan) and Hoya serpens (Himalayas).
Care
Wax plants thrive in well-drained soil, preferably a mix for epiphytic plants with bark and perlite like our aroid soil. They prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sun. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. It is sensitive to overwatering.
It grows in a climbing or trailing habit, depending on how it is trained. It develops epiphytic roots, which means they naturally grow on other plants without being parasitic.
Hoya 'Mathilde' is relatively easy to care for and is tolerant of varying conditions. Buy Hoya 'Mathilde' online!
