An easy-care porcelain flower with shallow veins and flowers that smell of cinnamon!
The leaves are small, pointed oval and measure between 3 and 6 cm. They have clear leaf veins that create a beautiful pattern. The flowers are small, whitish-yellow and covered with fine hairs. They are formed in clusters of 16 to 30 flowers and spread a strong, pleasant fragrance .
Care.
Porcelain flowers thrive best in mild conditions. They prefer partial shade to direct sun, temperatures around or above 20°C, and regular watering. The surface of the substrate should dry out between waterings, but it should not dry out completely.
During the growing season, they should be fertilized sparingly, for example with orchid fertilizer every two weeks. To promote flowering, a fertilizer with a lower nitrogen content can be used. Plant them in an airy soil mixture or orchid substrate, as they often grow epiphytically in nature.
Hoya lacunosa is no exception. It tolerates slightly drier conditions than many other Hoyas and can withstand short periods of drying out without harm.
Botanical description.
Hoya lacunosa is native to Thailand to western and central Malaysia.
