Hoya aff. clemensiorum (IML 1752)

A spectacular porcelain flower with dagger-like leaves that can grow up to 20-26 centimeters long. This plant is loved by collectors for its Jurassic appearance and leaf structure with strongly prominent veins.

The leaves are light green with distinct veins on the upper side and purple veins on the underside. Under bright conditions, the leaves can develop purplish tones.

The blooms are just as impressive as the leaves. Star-shaped, creamy yellow flowers with purple edges bloom in spherical clusters of up to 35 flowers per inflorescence. The flowers attract butterflies and last for about 3 days.

Botanical description

Hoya aff. clemensiorum comes from Sabah and is a species that has not yet received its definitive scientific name. It is a species related to clemensiorum but has not yet received a name.

hoya origin

The IML number (1752) refers to the collection number from the original location, which is common within the Hoya world to identify specific clones or forms before they are given formal names.

Care

Place the plant in bright, indirect light for 6-8 hours per day. It can tolerate direct light but avoid too much intense sun. The plant may change color when exposed to bright sunlight, which is natural and does not harm the plant.

Water when the soil surface feels dry. Use permeable soil like our peat-free soil and reduce watering during the winter. The plant thrives in dry soil and should be watered sparingly.

Although it can tolerate drier environments, it benefits from light humidity through pruning and grouping with other plants. Keep the plant warm year-round, as it does not thrive in cold weather.

Fertilize at half strength during the growing season and repot when the plant has doubled in size or once a year. Buy Hoya clemensiorum online!
