Easy-to-grow albino form with light tentacles and white flowers
Drosera capensis 'Alba' is an albino form of the Cape sundew from the Cape Province in South Africa and is one of the absolute easiest sundews to grow. Unlike the common form, it lacks red pigment entirely, which means the long, narrow leaves and tentacles remain light green to nearly white, even in strong light. The sticky, glittering tentacles catch insects, and the leaf then slowly curls around the prey.
It flowers readily with white blooms and often self-seeds.
Care
Thrives in a bright location with some direct sun. Use a nutrient-poor substrate of sphagnum moss and perlite or sand; never use regular potting soil or fertilizer. Water only with distilled or rainwater and keep the pot sitting in 1-2 centimeters of water constantly.
