Undescribed species from Indonesia with a unique appearance
This Alocasia variety is sold under the name 'Alocasia sabrina' but is not yet a recognized species. It is closely related and shares appearance with, among others, A. tandurusa and A. brancifolia. The leaves are green, have wavy edges and a rough surface on top. The stems are spotted with a zebra-like pattern. The result is strikingly beautiful.
Botanical description.
The species is believed to originate from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Synonyms: Alocasia sulawesi, Alocasia 'narrow jacklyn'.

Care.
Alocasia sabrina thrives in an airy soil mixture. Mix equal parts perlite, orchid bark and sphagnum moss or coconut fiber yourself or buy our ready-made aroid soil. It is better to choose a pot that is too small than too large, as the roots will otherwise remain wet for too long and rot. Always keep the soil moist but not soaked, allow the outermost layer of soil to dry.
Place the plant in bright light but not in direct midday sun. Give any plant food in very small doses once a week or use, for example, long-acting potted plant food in pellets. Buy Alocasia sabrina narrow online!
