Alocasia 'Regal Shields' is a hybrid between two very different species and the result is striking. The plant grows large, with deeply dark, heart-shaped leaves. With the right care, it quickly grows into a beautiful and decorative plant.

Botanical description.

The plant is a hybrid between Alocasia odora (seed parent) × Alocasia reginula 'Black Velvet' (pollen parent). LariAnn Garner (Aroidia Research) crossed the species in 2007.

Care.

Repot the plant in a pot with generous space for the roots. The soil should be well-drained, such as our aroid soil.
