Alocasia heterophylla 'dragon's breath' probably comes from the Philippines, endemic to the island of 'Luzon'. The species is believed to be endangered in the wild.

Appearance.

The leaves of Alocasia heterophylla are large, arrow-shaped, and have a beautiful blend of green shades, often with a subtle metallic sheen. The leaf surface is smooth with elegant and subtle veining. The leaves can grow to impressive sizes. As a houseplant, the leaves of this Alocasia grow about 30 cm long, and the plant itself reaches 40 cm in height. 

Care:

Alocasia heterophylla thrives in a well-draining soil mix rich in coco coir and fertilizer, such as our Aroid soil. Alocasia heterophylla prefers bright, indirect light but can also tolerate shade. However, it will not grow very quickly if placed there.
