Alocasia golden bone, probably a hybrid between Alocasia micholitziana and cuprea.
It is not well documented how this tropical plant came about. It is said, however, that the original plant was found in the jungles of Indonesia. However, this is quite unlikely since the hybrid's parents are endemic to the Philippines and Borneo.
Care.
For Alocasia golden bone to thrive , general care instructions for Alocasia apply. As a potted plant, it should be planted in well-drained soil that should never dry out completely. Humidity is key to making Alocasia thrive indoors. If your plant starts to lose leaves, you can try placing it in a transparent plastic box with moist perlite on the bottom. This increases the humidity and can sometimes save the plant. Alocasia also requires quite a lot of nutrition compared to other cold-hardy plants.
Origin.
This species is likely a hybrid between Alocasia micholitziana crossed with Alocasia cuprea. They are from the Philippines and Borneo, respectively. As a houseplant, it was introduced to the market in 2006.
Appearance.
The leaves of Alocasia golden bone have deep veins that contrast with the iridescent leaves. The back is a deep purple color. Buy Alocasia golden bone online!
