Adiantum hispidulum tillhör venushårsormbunkarna och kommer ursprungligen från Sydostasien samt de tropiska delarna av Australien och Östafrika. Där växer den i fuktiga, skuggiga miljöer, i marken, på fuktiga klippor eller epifytiskt på mossbevuxna trädstammar.
Växten når en höjd och bredd på cirka 40 till 50 centimeter, med enskilda blad upp till 30 centimeter långa. Bladen är uppdelade i korta, smala, elliptiska småblad som är ljusgröna, böjda och har en lätt vågig kant.
Färgen på de nya bladen är det som sticker ut: de kommer först fram rödaktiga, går sedan över i orange till brons innan de mognar till grönt.
Trots att arten liknar våra inhemska venushår är den inte härdig och bör därför endast odlas som krukväxt eller i terrarium.
Skötsel
Trivs i halvskugga till skugga, undvik direkt sol. Håll jorden jämnt fuktig och låt den aldrig torka ut helt.
Kräver hög luftfuktighet, gärna 60 procent eller mer. Torr inomhusluft är den vanligaste orsaken till att bladen blir bruna och spröda. Använd en luftig, fuktighetshållande jord.
Idealtemperatur 18-24 grader Celsius. Gödsla sparsamt under växtsäsongen. Köp ormbunkar online!
