A tropical tree with impressive leaves
The fiddle-leaf fig is a tree that can grow up to 15 meters tall, but indoors it can be kept much smaller through pruning. This plant is truly a favorite, an ideal houseplant for a corner where you have less floor space but can utilize vertical space to create depth and height in your indoor jungle.
Despite its reputation, Ficus lyrata is actually an easy-to-grow plant for bright indoor locations and not as difficult to care for as many believe!
Care
Thrives in bright, indirect light, preferably near a window but protected from direct strong midday sun. Water when the top few centimeters of soil have dried out. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings but avoid complete desiccation.
Prefers high humidity but adapts to normal indoor air. Wipe the leaves regularly to keep them clean and free of dust. Ideal temperature 18-24°C.
Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Prune to control height and encourage branching. Repot every two to three years in well-draining potting soil. Buy fiddle-leaf fig online!
