Praktfull luftväxthybrid med silvrig rosett och ballongliknande rosaröd blomställning
Tillandsia 'Cotton Candy' är en hybrid framtagen av Mark Dimmitt genom korsning av Tillandsia stricta (fröförälder) och Tillandsia recurvifolia (pollenförälder).
Växten bildar en full rosett på cirka 15 till 20 centimeter i diameter med många långa, tunna, halvmjuka blad. Bladen är täckta av ett tätt lager silvriga trikom (hårlika utskott) som ger växten dess vackra silvergröna skimmer.
Blomställningen är verkligen växtens höjdpunkt, stor och halvhängande med lysande rosaröda stödblad som ser nästan uppblåsta ut, som en rosa ballong. Ur dessa framträder små lila-violetta blommor.
Skötsel
Detta är en mycket lättodlad och kraftfull växt som tolererar både varma torra och fuktiga förhållanden, vilket gör den förlåtande även för nybörjare.
Trivs bäst i väl upplysta lägen med ljust, indirekt ljus och god luftcirkulation. Vattna genom att spraya eller doppa växten några gånger i veckan, och låt den alltid torka upp ordentligt mellan vattningarna så att inget vatten blir kvar i rosettens mitt.
Som luftväxt behöver den ingen jord. Monteras med fördel på bark, kork eller trä, eller placeras fritt i en skål eller hållare. Idealtemperatur 18-28 grader Celsius.
