Exotic, somewhat smaller species. Perfect for terrariums
Philodendron cotonense is a hemiepiphytic climbing philodendron from eastern Costa Rica and western Panama, where it grows in premontane rainforests at altitudes between 1100-1950 meters. The stem grows pressed against its support with ends that often split and can reach at least 5 meters in length.
The leaves are narrowly ovate-triangular, 23-45 centimeters long and up to 20.5 centimeters wide with prominent lobes at the base. New leaves are gradually tapered at the apex.
Botanical description

Philodendron cotonense belongs to P. sect. Calostigma subsect. Glossophyllum ser. Ovata. The species is characterized by internodes that are usually longer than wide, nearly round petioles, and more or less triangular leaves that are on average more than twice as long as wide.
Flowering has been recorded in both Costa Rica and Panama in June, with fruiting from July to December and mature fruits in March.
Care
Thrives in bright, indirect light with high humidity (70-80%). Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained. Ideal temperature 18-26°C. Provide the plant with climbing support such as a moss pole.
Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Propagate through stem cuttings.
