Enormous pitchers up to 40 cm, one of the largest Nepenthes hybrids in cultivation
Nepenthes 'Linda' is one of two named hybrids introduced by Hampshire Carnivorous Plants, alongside N. 'Louisa', each honoring breeder Tony Kuipers' daughters. This vigorous highland hybrid (N. 'Rebecca Soper' × N. ventricosa red form) is known for producing enormous pitchers up to 40 centimeters long, making it one of the largest and most dramatic hybrids in cultivation.
The cross combines 'Rebecca Soper' (ramispina × ventricosa) with N. ventricosa red, producing a plant that is both vigorous and colorful. Bred and distributed by Hampshire Carnivorous Plants, it remains an absolute highlight in collections worldwide for its size and ease of cultivation.
This is a size hybrid grown for mature pitchers to become genuinely enormous. The parentage provides both strong color and strong vigor. Under good conditions, it will continue to climb, replace, and build towards a much larger display than most indoor Nepenthes ever manage to achieve.
Its impressive scale makes it best suited for growers with space, bright filtered light, and a willingness to provide the plant with the humidity and root conditions it needs over the long term. Fresh airy substrate, clean water, and a decent night drop help a lot, but the main attraction remains obvious: oversized red pitchers that look more like sculpted vessels than leaves. For collectors who want a Nepenthes that instantly reads as a centerpiece, 'Linda' absolutely qualifies.
Care
Use 50% long-fibered sphagnum moss + 50% perlite and coir chips as substrate. Water preferably with only distilled or rainwater, keep moist. Thrives in very bright, filtered light (highland species). 18-26°C with a night drop to 12-18°C (night drop important!). Buy Nepenthes 'Linda' online
