Fast-flowering Sumatra hoya from Rafflesia's home region with glossy white flowers, easy-to-grow favorite
Hoya sp. Bengkulu, also known as Hoya 'Rindu Rafflesia', is an exotic tropical plant native to the Bengkulu province in Indonesia, located on the southwest coast of Sumatra. This is the same area where the giant corpse flower (Rafflesia arnoldii) is found. The area where this hoya lives is exceptionally hot and humid; year-round, monthly daytime temperatures reach around 30°C, with nighttime temperatures dropping only to just over 20°C.
This hoya has long, thin leaves with pointed tips and glossy white flowers. It is such an easy-to-grow and fast-flowering plant that it is a must-have for collectors.
Care
Recreate a dense forest environment with high humidity and warmth. Very little, if any, direct sunlight should hit the plant at any time of day; it thrives best in bright, indirect light. Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Use well-draining, airy soil.
Ideal temperature 22-30 degrees Celsius with high humidity. Excellent for climbing supports or in hanging baskets. Buy Hoya sp. Bengkulu (Rindu Rafflesia) online!
