Philippine Heart-Shaped Hoya with Small Mottled Leaves and Intensely Fragrant Creamy-White Flowers

Hoya krohniana is a relatively recently established Hoya species that was long known in the trade as "Heart-Leafed lacunosa". The species originates from the Philippines and was scientifically described in 2001. This is a highly recommended plant that thrives in slightly cooler conditions than H. lacunosa if you want it to bloom, and the flowers smell just as sweet as lacunosa. A must-have for both beginners and advanced Hoya collectors!

The 'Eskimo' variety has mottled leaves that are small and heart-shaped, only 1 to 2.5 centimeters long and 1 to 1.5 centimeters wide. The recurved and fuzzy flowers are cream-colored, almost white, about 8 millimeters in diameter, and you will find about 15 to 25 flowers in each cluster.

This Hoya blooms quite often once it gets started, and its perfume-like scent can fill an entire room at night. The flowers last for about 4 to 5 days and produce very little nectar.

Care Instructions

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Prefers slightly cooler temperatures for flowering and high humidity. Well-drained, airy soil. Ideal temperature 16-24 degrees Celsius. Excellent for climbing supports or in hanging baskets. Buy Hoya krohniana 'Eskimo' online!
