Very easy to care for and beautifully flowering Hoya
Hoya fitchii is a compact porcelain flower from the Philippines, named after photographer Charles Marsden Fitch who discovered the plant. The flowers vary greatly in color depending on the growing conditions, from yellow and orange to shades of pink.
The small star-shaped flowers come in dense clusters and are fragrant when in bloom. The plant maintains its compact form and flowers relatively easily. It is not difficult to grow, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced growers.
Botanical description
Hoya fitchii comes from the Philippines, where there are many endemic Hoya species and is an important region for the genus.

The variable flower color depends on factors such as light intensity, temperature and nutrient availability, which is unusual even within the hoya genus where flower colors are usually stable.
Care
Place the hoya in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate soft morning light but avoid strong afternoon sun.
Water when the soil feels dry a few inches down. Let the plant dry out between waterings. Overwatering is the most common problem.
Use a well-drained soil mix with perlite or bark. A mixture of coconut fiber, fine orchid bark and perlite works well.
Fertilize sparingly during the growing season. Avoid moving the plant when it has flower buds as it may drop the flowers. Buy Hoya fitchii online!
