An easy-care porcelain flower with pink leaves
From its humble origins in the forests of East Asia, Hoya carnosa has now been bred into many varieties, including Flamingo Dream. The new buds on the porcelain flower are a beautiful pink and slightly fuzzy. The leaves eventually turn green with white edges.
Care
Hoya carnosa 'Flamingo Dream' is a hardy porcelain flower that thrives indoors and requires minimal maintenance. Water sparingly and always let the soil dry out before watering. Place the plant in bright light but not in direct sunlight in summer. Cut branches with new shoots to take cuttings, then place these in a little damp moss until the cuttings have roots. Then plant in an airy soil, preferably with lots of perlite.
Botanical Description
Hoya carnosa is the plant species from which the 'Flamingo Dream' variety originates. The species originates from eastern Asia, particularly China, Taiwan, Japan and India.
In addition to its colorful blooms, Hoya carnosa 'Flamingo Dream' is known for its lovely fragrance. The flowers emit a sweet and pleasant aroma, especially in the evening when it blooms the most.
Like other species in the Hoya genus, Hoya carnosa 'Flamingo Dream' has epiphytic growth habits. This means that it naturally grows on other plants without harming them. This makes the flower an interesting plant to grow on climbing supports or hanging baskets where it can twine and show off its beautiful flowers. Buy Hoya carnosa flamingo dream online!
