The cactus is called the 'old man of the Andes' because of its hairy appearance.

The small white hairs on the cactus protect against frost and the strong sun. The species grows at altitudes of around 3-4000m in Bolivia and Argentina.

Care.

Regular cactus soil works great. Dip the entire pot in a water bath when the soil is completely dry. Place the plant in a sunny location. This cactus can tolerate most things but not too much water.
