Asplenium nidus is one of the oldest plant genera on Earth and has existed for over 100 million years.
Asplenium nidus is also called Bird's-foot fern in Swedish. This fern grows gigantic, the leaves reach lengths of up to 2m!
Like many other ferns, Asplenium nidus thrives in high humidity, making it an excellent houseplant for the bathroom. The bird fern also tolerates shade relatively well. Furthermore, it is not toxic to cats, dogs or humans.
Botanical description
Asplenium nidus is native to the tropical and subtropical forests of Malaysia and surrounding islands in the Pacific region. Asplenium nidus belongs to the family Aspleniaceae.

Care:
To enjoy yourself, you should Place the bird fern in a spot with indirect light and keep the soil evenly moist. It should never dry out. Use a well-drained soil mix with plenty of coconut or hummus and wipe the leaves regularly to keep them clean from dust.
Appearance.
This Bird's-foot trefoil is known for its thick leaves, similar to those of banana plants. The leaves are shiny and deep green, with a lobed structure along the edges that resembles a wavy line. Its leaves are often densely arranged in a rosette-like shape and can extend up to several meters in length!
Asplenium nidus, oddly enough, grows as an epiphyte. This means that this fern grows on the branches or trunks of other plants. It may have a small trunk, similar to the trunks that tree ferns have, but is not considered a tree fern.
Bird's beak has become a real favorite plant for many thanks to its unusual appearance and ease of care. Its elegant green leaves make it a popular choice for softening the home interior or for creating a tropical feel. Buy Bird's-foot fern online at Ferns!
