Variegated peace lily with white marbled leaves, tolerates some direct sun
Spathiphyllum 'Sensation' Variegata is a variegated cultivar of the classic Peace Lily. Its leaves are marbled with white stripes emanating from the midrib, and each leaf has a slightly different pattern. This color form has a higher proportion of white than, for example, Spathiphyllum 'Diamond', and the coloring is more evenly distributed.
Due to the high proportion of white, it grows slower and also needs more light for good growth. After acclimatization, it can even tolerate direct sun!
Spathiphyllum are aroids from South America and parts of Asia, where they are mainly found in the undergrowth of secondary forests. They are extremely adaptable and easily propagated, making them very easy-to-care-for houseplants. 'Sensation' Variegata grows to about 120 centimeters tall from an underground rhizome that constantly forms new leaves. The rhizome branches out on its own, so you quickly get a stately but compact bush.
Care
Thrives in bright, indirect light; due to the high proportion of white, it needs more light than a regular peace lily. After acclimatization, it tolerates some direct sun. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. The leaves characteristically droop when the plant needs water.
Requires high humidity for best well-being. Well-drained soil. Ideal temperature 18-26 degrees Celsius. Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Buy Spathiphyllum 'Sensation' Variegata online!
