Hoya linearis is a distinct species originally from the Himalayan mountain slopes
This unusual porcelain flower thrives in areas with cooler temperatures compared to many other hoya species. Hoya linearis is known for its long, slender, and soft tendrils that can grow to impressive lengths of over a meter.
The leaves are small, narrow and slightly hairy, giving the plant an almost feathery appearance. This makes it particularly suitable for hanging baskets!
Botanical description
Hoya linearis is native to Nepal and China (Northwest Yunnan). The species is believed to be endangered in the wild.

Care
Hoya thrives best in bright, indirect light, which in winter is considered sunny windows in our northern latitudes. Keep the soil slightly moist, letting the top layer of soil dry out between waterings. A well-drained mixture, such as an orchid soil with elements of perlite and coconut fiber, gives the roots plenty of oxygen and reduces the risk of root problems.
Unlike many other hoyas that love heat, Hoya linearis is better suited to cooler conditions. Its hanging tendrils add an airy and elegant feel to any room, and it is particularly popular in Scandinavian homes. Although flowering can be a bit more challenging than with other hoyas, the small white flowers and their fragrance are well worth the effort. Buy Hoya linearis online!
